Fruit, flowers and feelings: Revel Cider captures Ontario Terroir One Sip at a Time

Founded in 2014, Revel Cider emerged as a solo project from an organic vegetable farm where Tariq, amidst his studies in plant science at the University of Guelph, developed a love for food and drink fermentation. Noticing the absence of dry ciders in Ontario, Tariq began crafting his own, eventually expanding into naturally fermented pickles and mulberry wine.
Based in Guelph, Revel specializes in wild-fermented ciders, wines, and vermouths, with customer favourites including Soif, a blend of strawberries, Montmorency cherries, and red wine skins, and foraged vermouths. At the Guelph Farmers’ Market, Revel shares its craft and deepens connections with the community. Embracing local produce, Revel sources fruits and flowers from across Ontario, showcasing the region’s essence through wild fermentation.
